Trends in the development of the Russian banking sector in the context of its recovery policy

The sanctions imposed by the US and the EU in 2014 continue to have a negative impact on the Russian economy, and the restriction of Russian banks ' access to refinancing processes has a negative impact on the entire banking sector. In order to ensure the stability of the financial market of the Russian Federation, the Bank of Russia in cooperation with the Government of the Russian Federation is pursuing a policy of recovery of the banking sector, which involves the implementation of a set of measures. The article describes the main trends in the development of the banking sector as a result of the policy, as well as its impact on the level of competition and stability of the banking system.
