This article describes the development and empirical validation of the digital readiness (maturity) index of e-commerce markets. This index allows countries to be compared by the level of development of the e-commerce environment. The index aggregates five indicators: Internet access, web infrastructure security, logistics efficiency, adoption of digital payments, and mobile connectivity. The methodological approach involves taking the logarithm of the indicator with a large value in the entire series, normalizing the values, and bringing them to a single infinite scale. Cross-country data are used to demonstrate country profiles by digital maturity, identify structural bottlenecks, and classify markets into mature, developed, emerging, and nascent. The practical significance of the index is that it helps make management decisions, monitor, benchmark, and prioritize investments, balance the portfolio in the field of online channels, and assess infrastructure risks.
