CORRELATION BETWEEN LABOR PRODUCTIVITY AND INNOVATIONS: AN EVALUATION AT THE LEVEL OF RUSSIAN REGIONS

Innovations play a decisive role in increasing labor productivity, which, in turn, is a key component of national competitiveness and economic growth. The research problem is associated with the lack of significant changes in the level of labor productivity in the Russian Federation, despite the implementation of the national project "Labor Productivity." The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between innovation activity and labor productivity at the regional level. Using correlation analysis, the hypothesis of a positive and statistically significant relationship between innovations and labor productivity in the context of Russian regions is tested. The results of the study reveal that there is no statistically significant relationship between the labor productivity index in the regions of the Russian Federation and the indicators characterizing innovation activity at the regional level. The findings of the research can be used to develop a socio-economic development strategy for the Russian Federation, taking into account the tasks of increasing labor productivity in the national economy.
